Fossil’s hybrid smartwatches offer useful health metrics and the Fossil Smart Watch App is a companion App designed to complement this experience, providing glanceable health metrics as well as customizing watch-features.
This app lets you set notifications, sync your phone to your wearable via Bluetooth and update its software. In addition, there is a wide variety of workouts and sleep/blood oxygen monitoring.
The All-in-one Smartwatch App
The Fossil Smart Watch App is the official application for their hybrid and touchscreen smartwatches, providing seamless synchronization with smartphones to access their major features. Available to download for free on both App Store and Google Play, the Fossil Smartwatch App shows battery status while tracking activity as well as keeping you informed of any notifications on your phone.
As soon as your new device arrives, the first step should be linking it with an iPhone or Android smartphone via Bluetooth(r). After downloading and installing an app for either platform, follow its on-screen instructions to pair devices via Bluetooth(r). With your devices paired, start tracking daily activity and setting goals towards healthier lifestyle changes!
The Fossil Q app not only tracks goals and daily progress, but it can also customize your watch! Choose from different watch faces – which you can switch whenever desired – as well as add photos that won’t become distorted on its e-ink display.
The Fossil Q app’s most useful feature enables you to select which apps receive notifications, while you can download additional watch apps and watch faces from Google Play Store to enhance your device. Furthermore, this application can be used to locate any misplaced Fossil smartwatch by tapping its icon at the top right corner of home screens and following on-screen instructions to find it if it becomes lost.
Health Metrics
Fossil’s app serves as the conduit between your watch and smartphone, offering various features such as stopwatch, timer, music controls and the ability to ring your phone. It also replaces its default dial with one featuring wellness face customization and edits to settings and tiles customization. You can even link up Google Fit via this app and access its health metrics!
However, my experience on this watch was far less refined than with other Wear OS smartwatches I’ve used. Even after adding features such as a dedicated workout mode, its interface remains somewhat confusing; notifications may easily slip past me and it wasn’t nearly as efficient as what Withings ScanWatch offered.
It becomes especially clear when using the app to track a workout. The Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness is estimated to last two weeks on a single charge compared to most wearable fitness trackers due to no touchscreen and resource-heavy operating system consuming power, though you will require the app if you want more comprehensive data regarding heart rate, sleep or other fitness metrics.
The Fossil Smart Watch App gives you the ability to personalize the look and functionality of your watch’s screen, unlock new functionality such as sleep analysis. You can also use this app to monitor health metrics like continuous heart rate monitoring, VO2 Max measurements and auto workout detection as well as show rolling histories of notifications and weather data. Compatible with Android and iOS phones alike, once paired you will be asked to agree to its terms of service and privacy policy before pairing your device.
Workouts Tracking
Fossil’s Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness smartwatch marries traditional watchmaking techniques with digital device functionality for an excellent hybrid smartwatch experience. Featuring daily basic workout tracking that’s intended more towards casual runners than serious competitors like Nike Run Club and Spotify; Fossil also provides its own app that offers additional settings and customizations to monitor activity. Plus, its two week battery life on full charge and compatibility with most Android phones make this device extremely efficient!
Fossil hybrid watches differ from other Wear OS watches by not featuring touchscreen displays or resource-heavy operating systems, making it much simpler and user-friendly. Instead, this watch uses a button-based interface to navigate its functions, connecting directly with smartphones for phone calls and texts as well as offering Alexa integration for quick app access through voice assistant.
The Fossil Smart Watch App is an intuitive companion app for your device that displays all of its health and fitness metrics in an easily understandable manner. You can edit watch settings, change watch faces or tiles, locate it quickly using GPS tracking services, sync your fitness data with Google Fit for seamless synchronization as well as view notifications about steps taken, sleep data logged and notifications received on its smartphone screen.
Once linked with your watch, this app will record all of your activity automatically while also giving you the option of customizing which types of workouts it records; these could include running, biking, swimming, elliptical exerciser, weights or row machine workouts. While not as extensive as other fitness trackers such as Strava, it should suffice for most users. It even offers competition challenges between friends – though the list doesn’t compare with what can be found elsewhere such as Strava.
Sleep Tracking
Fossil’s Wear OS smartwatch updates now include sleep tracking and VO2 max estimates to their fitness monitoring, promising better real-time activity tracking as well as longer battery life thanks to an extended mode that gives 24 hours per charge. In addition, customizable fitness profiles have also been introduced by Fossil to assist people reach their fitness goals more effectively.
Fossil watches now include sleep tracking in their Wellness app – something missing on many Wear OS smartwatches. You’ll find this feature as a tile in the watch’s menu, where you can scroll up to access sleep history and metrics – an invaluable feature for anyone aiming to monitor their sleeping patterns and improve their health.
Fossil’s new feature is similar to what other apps that connect with Google Fit do, like Sleep As Android and Sleep Cycle; however, its method for tracking is distinct; Fossil uses wear OS SpO2 tracking.
Staying well-rested is key to leading a healthy lifestyle. To get enough restful slumber each night, it’s crucial that we go to bed and wake up at approximately the same time each day, without using caffeine or alcohol prior to sleep. Incorporating relaxing bedtime rituals like reading, meditation or taking hot baths into your routine may also prove helpful in maintaining wellness.
Fossil’s new Wellness App for Gen 5 and 6 Wear OS smartwatches is now available, providing even more features than are already offered – heart rate monitoring, notifications for text, call and calendar updates as well as always-on readouts of messages, weather, music etc. Fossil has also added voice assistant support. So users can control their phone directly via the watch’s touchscreen allowing easy music / podcast listening!
Customization of the watch-screens
Customizing your Fossil smartwatch is easy! Choose from various watch faces and adjust them to reflect your personal style and tastes, while customizing colors and backgrounds and further enhance your watch experience. With the Fossil app’s help, personalizing your smartwatch takes just a few steps – plus it offers helpful instructions at each stage!
Once you’ve launched the Fossil Smartwatches App, tap on any watch face above “For You.” Here you will find various options, some requiring codes. Some watch faces may offer customization features like changing text font and style or preset stickers; you may even add images directly onto them; just remember that e-ink displays have limited resolution and may distort certain photos.

Furthermore, this page lets you set alarms and manage smartphone notifications; move/hide apps you don’t want on your watch from this menu and more.
